George Boshev

RETIRED FOUNDING PARTNER

George was one of the founding partners of the firm. He grew up in a rural property in New South Wales and, after completing high school, attended the University of Newcastle, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours.

He subsequently was granted admission to the University of Sydney Law School, where he qualified and was admitted in February 1977. He worked as an employee for a Sydney legal firm for some five years, both prior to and subsequent to his admission. He practiced primarily in the fields of personal injury litigation (including third-party workers’ compensation and public liability claims), conveyancing, commercial law and estates.

When George returned to the Newcastle area in 1980, he and Peter Bale worked for a firm known as Cleaves and Cleaves, which practiced out of the building on the corner of Tudor Street and Beaumont Street in Hamilton. In approximately 1982, Peter and George took over the business known as Cleaves and Cleaves and established Bale Boshev Lawyers which presently has offices in Hamilton, Belmont and East Maitland.

George retired from the partnership on the 31st day of June 2023 to spend more time with his family and friends and to see more of the world. George Boshev’s knowledge of the law, his wit and his humour will be missed by all at Bale Boshev Lawyers.’
