Documents lost to Wickham Fire

NOTICE: Loss of Documents

We wish to advise all clients of Bale Boshev Lawyers that many of our Security Documents, including WILLS, were held in storage at the Wickham Self Storage facility at Annie Street Wickham, which was totally destroyed by fire on 1/3/22.
Wickham Self Storage was just one of the two storage facilities our firm had for client Safe Custody Documents servicing all our offices.

Who is Not Affected?

Clients that had their Wills, Powers of Attorneys, or Enduring Guardianships made and stored at our Belmont and East Maitland office from 1995 onwards, are safely stored at our second storage location.

Who is Affected?

Clients that had their Wills, Powers of Attorneys, or Enduring Guardianships made and stored at our Hamilton and Toronto offices from 1980 onwards, have been destroyed in the fire.

What do I need to do if I am affected?

In the event that any client held a will in safe custody (Hamilton and Toronto office only) then you should contact us to prepare a replacement Will.

  1. Contact us on (02) 49691522 or on email: wills@baleboshev.com.au to book an appointment with us to renew your Will.
  2. If you have retained a copy of your Will, Powers of Attorney, or Enduring Guardianship, please locate them for ease of reference.
  3. If you have not retained a copy of your Will, Powers of Attorney, or Enduring Guardianship, please advise us the date and solicitor who assisted you, if possible.

We will also be sending letters directly out to affected clients in the weeks and months to come.
This will be a difficult and time-consuming process and we request patience and understanding while our staff help all affected clients.

We also acknowledge the incredible response from the emergency services and fire crews made in containing the Wickham fire and preventing spread to surrounding areas.
